How do I book a session?
If you would like to book a session, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 214-463-6071. There is also an email form on the CONTACT page of this website. Once you decide to book a session with LotusBlu Photography, you will need to make a $300.00 session fee to reserve the date via bank transfer. If you need to reschedule your session for any reason, please allow 48 hours notice to avoid forfeiting your $300.00 session fee.
How much do you charge for your photo sessions?
Please contact Kate for your specific needs and the type of photo session that you want to book, email@example.com.
What happens after I pay the deposit for our photo session?
Once your photography session fee has been reserved, we will discuss in more detail about your session – (what to expect, what to wear, our location, and what to do when you arrive, as well as our followup appointment to review your images). Give me a call so we can chat about your next photography session.
What should I wear for my session?
For a group or family session it is important to coordinate – you don’t want to match. For individual portraits you have a little more freedom with your outfit. Check out my link on Pinterest for more 'what to wear' ideas, http://www.pinterest.com/lotusbluphoto.
When should I schedule my newborn session?
The best time to contact me is before you have your baby. It is never too early to book a newborn session because your baby’s birth date may be unpredictable. If you are given a specific delivery date, then the actual session date can be booked in advance. If you are going to let baby decide, I will add you to my schedule around the time your due date is expected. Once your baby arrives, booking your appointment within the first week is the best time to schedule your session. The first 5-14 days work best to get peaceful, sleepy and very curly poses of your sweet baby. After two weeks of age, they are more likely to be disturbed and less likely to have newborn acne that may start to flare up around three weeks of age.
How long will my newborn session take?
Newborn sessions are usually anywhere from 2 - 3 hours long, allowing plenty of time for feedings, diaper changes, soothing and a variety of poses and setups for your baby’s unique gallery of images.
Family sessions are usually anywhere from 1-1.2 hours long, allowing time for fun and play to create some beautiful images.
What about props for my newborn session?
Photography props and all accessories, ie blankets, headbands, wraps, baskets for newborn portraits, are cleaned meticulously after each and every session to making sure that all items are clean and hygienic.
What time of day should we do my session?
For Family or Individual outdoor portraits can be scheduled at any time but for the best light portraits either in the early morning or late afternoon/evening time are best. For in-home newborn sessions, we can schedule your session at anytime, usually early morning is the best, but our timing is best coordinated with your newborn's feeding schedule. Most babies will fall into a deep sleep after their feeding time. With newborns, we usually work around their feeding schedule and are prepared to photograph just after their feed.
Where should we take our pictures?
Let's talk about the feel you want for your session and then can suggest the best locations for your requirements. Using fun and unique locations is one of the things I truly enjoy. I love scouting out new locations for future clients so that they have some wonderful images. I am certain we will find the perfect location for you whether it is a traditional park area, a funky urban spot or simply in your own home.
How far in advance should I book my session?
As soon as you decide you want my services, book your session!!! I am typically booked in advance, especially before the holiday months.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time I accept cash, check or online bank transfer payable on the day of your photo session.
After our photo session, what happens next?
After our session, I will schedule an appointment with you so that we may review your beautiful images in a private viewing session and discuss which package you may want to purchase for your family keepsakes. You can then decide how you would like to display your images in your home. The fine art editing of your images will take about 2 weeks.
If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call Kate, at 214-463-6071.
